It was a pleasure to work with the team led by Francois St-Pierre on this collaborative project. We describe new genetically encoded voltage indicators, JEDI3sub and JEDI3hyp, with enhanced performance for detecting subthreshold voltage responses in neurons. These new sensors can be used with various microscopy methods, including resonant scanner 2P imaging. Mate and Shanii in the lab used JEDI3hyp to image subthreshold depolarization and hyperpolarization in PV interneurons
